About Air Costa

Air Costa is one of the regional airlines in India. Based in Vijayawada city in Andhra Pradesh, it was recently started in October, 2013 with two Embraer E-170 aircrafts. Air Costa despite its humble beginnings has plans to have a fleet of at least 25 airlines by 2018. Presently two E-190 jets are to be added to the fleet and they have further plans of adding five E-170s and E-190s by the end of 2013 with a target of 10 jets by 2014. The airlines are a part of LEPL Group with about 300 employees with expatriate pilots and engineers amongst them. Initially planning to start with a fleet of Q400 aircraft, it was then changed to Embraer E-170 aircrafts. A No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Civil Aviation was given to The LEPL group in February 2012 additionally the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given Air Costa, its Air Operators’ Permit (AOP) in September 2013. Any passenger, be it an adult or a child travelling in economy class is allowed to check in one luggage weighing 20 kilograms or lesser. For first class travelers the baggage allowance for check in is 30 kilograms or lesser. Excess baggage will be permitted only if there is space left in the aircraft. In addition to cabin luggage weighing a maximum of 7 kilograms, one laptop bag or hand bag is permitted into the aircraft. The extra bag must be accommodated under the seat, in the overhead storage compartment or in front of the passenger traveling with it. Any baggage carried into the airline will be checked thoroughly. Air Costa Fleet

The total fleet size of Air Costa Airline is 371. It operates with a pair of Embraer E-170 jets leased from ECC. In the last of 2013 E- 190, five E-170s and E-190s will be added to its fleet size. There is a plan to add 10 aircrafts by 2014 and 25 aircrafts at the end of 2018.
