The property has a location score of3.2/5
Stayed here with family for 3 night and 4 days. The place has around 6 rooms and is basically an old colonial style bunglaw. The views from outside the room are splendid and the place has a fantastic garden which is well maintained with lovely flowers. There is ample space for parking and that is not a concern at all, unlike most places in coonoor. We loved the food that was served up at the restaurant. Everything is made to order, so expect up to 30 min delays, but the taste was top notch. Prices are definitely on the high side, much higher than Bangalore even !! We opted for south indian breakfast and were very happy with the idly-vada-dosa offerings. Staff is very friendly and helpful and we did not have any issues with them throughout the stay. The place is eerily quiet at night, so if you are the kind who likes a bit of life, then this may not be the place for you. Distance to tourist spots You can reach Dolphins nose and Lambs rock in less than half hour. Sims part is ~ 1km away, so you could even walk if you wish to !! There is a newly opened TanTea meuseum next to Sims park that you may consider visiting , especially if you speak Tamil. The lady there gave us an enthusiastic overview ( in Tamil) of different kinds of tea and how they are made. Railway station is ~10 mins drive, ditto for bus. Negative aspects -Room flooring and walls needs a round of renovation. Does not look very clean. -There was a rat in the room ( Cromwell suite) and finally figured out it was coming in through the chimney. The staff helped close the opening and after that we did not face any trouble. On the plus side, we were offered a change of room because of this by the staff, but we were fully unpacked by then and did not want to move. -Heater should be given as part of the room package and not charged extra. Believe me, you cannot survive without it in the rooms in December.
heaven on earth..........lovely surroundings, serene, traquil ,a perfect location to unwind. the restaurant serves some delightful delicacies. coutreous and affable staff. the chefs wre all over there to serve you the best. enjoyed every moment of our stay would highly recommend.
The place is good one to stay. Very quiet environment. If you wanted to be in a place which is nearby hill station but not too commercial.. and again not in between a tea / coffee estate where reaching itself is a big task ; then this is the place you are looking for..
very well managed property in the middle of town and yet retains its charm.. and very ably run by mr suresh and his staff.. very helpful staff and very good food.. will surely stay again
