Poovar Island Resort

nice picture perfect resort in a island named poovar, we stayed there for two days at a floating cottage, floating cottages are better than land cottages , land cottages needs more cleanliness, you guys must go for floating cottages these are great. everything is good except the pick up facility from their welcome jetty to resort island, every time we was waiting more than 45 minutes for boat, again one more thing at welcome point no body can help you to transfer your luggaages from your vehicle to the boat, you are bound to carry your own luggages by yourself from your vehicle to their boat for transfer, its a great disappointing matter.other things are nice great and polite staff behavior, good food, picture perfect resort , clam & peacefull nature. they offer free boat service to go to front beach from resort island. nice resort for families, honeymoon couples and for every one.children are secured at here . cctv are every where. two restaurant, bar, conference hall,pool side bar, yoga center, activity center, children's play area, rabbit farm also available.

We had a wonderful stay there , the mind cooling ambience of the property is commendable. We stayed in land cottage , the room is tidy and clean with an open balcony to the loan. The floating cottages are not worth staying at a high price (not stayed there). The swimming pool and other amenities are nice and well maintained. The staff though we had lesser interactions was good. The boating is free only to the near by beach. The boating through river and backwaters is chargeable @*********** which is costly compared to the nearby boat clubs. The quality of food is good but very very costly . The complementary breakfast was very good. Things to improve 1.Group boating through the river at a fixed time may be included in the package 2. Coast of the food may be reduced Major attractions 1. The ambience and the maintanance of the property 2. The estuary, beach, Neyyar joining Arabian sea

Poovar Island Resort is a lovely destination. It's a value for money vacation in a picturesque place. Some highlights. They have a limited number of boats. The only way to go to and from the island to the car park or the beach is through these boats. High tide means you can only visit the beach when the sun is quite strong. Breakfast and dinner buffets are a little annoying if there are too many people around.One of our rooms has to be changed because it had a mouse in it. The swimming pool was under maintenance. So the one working pool was overcrowded. We ended up not using it. Most of the staff seemed young and inexperienced. Friendly nonetheless. It's a family-friendly destination. Quiet and peaceful. The rooms were beautiful with a fantastic view into the garden and the sea. The play areas were lovely. Spent hours walking or on hammocks near the sea.

We visited Poovar Island resort for Chrishmas Vacation, Its was bit confusing for us to reach Poovar Resort but Mr. Dinesh who is the manager guided us all over the trip. We started from Bangalore to Trivandrum and got down at Kaliyakavila . We took Auto and reach the Poovar Resort Boat point. Surprise start from that point on wards, Its took 15 mins drive to take us to Poovar Island which was fully covered by nature. Had excellent hospitality from the resort. Rooms are very neat and rich . Swimming pool is very nice and my kid really enjoy the pool. Staffs are very friendly . We had Lunch buffet which is above average (Not Excellent) . Morning Buffet was excellent ,we enjoyed the dishes served over there. Overall Its was very satisfactory trip for us. We are really planning to revisit the Resort with my Whole family.

Poovar Island Resort is uniquely located with pristine Poovar beaches on one side and backwaters on the other. You can reach the resort only through a boat arranged by them (20 min ride). The reception desk is very cordial, helpful and pleasant. The room is also very neatly maintained with clean toilets and nice house keeping. The room is spacious, besides there is a varandah with a net hammock. The breakfast is very good but food is a bit expensive overall (approx. 700+ per person for buffet). For children there are several facilities to have fun with like child friendly swimming pool, well maintained play area and a game house with several games like, board football, caroms, TT and many more. Overall it was a very nice experience and we always wanted to go back there..

Very good place to spend time with friends and families. Relaxed atmosphere. Most importantly not seeing any vehicles except boat for 3 full days was a different experience. Resort is well maintained and clean. Hospitality and entertainment was good. Floating cottage: This is not worth the extra money. Better stay in land cottage. Food: Food quality is good. But the buffet management can be improved significantly. Just after 20 mins of the start of Buffet, main dishes will be over. It takes a lot of time for them to replenish. Authentic kerala food is missing (Except for Puttu). Activities: Should concentrate more on recreational activities. Group fun activities were organised on one night. Would be great if there are programs to engage kids during the day time.

What a beautiful place to be at, seriously out of the world... 1st we were taken by a 15min board ride to reach our journey... its their huge and beautiful pvt island type place, on reaching we were welcomed and given welcome drinks, the staff were so helpful and quick, quickly arranged everything and there we were in our bloating delux room, what an amazing exp, n later we went for de stress massage to an ayurveda village on their property itself.. man what a beauty, the massage the place... one should definetly visit this place.. aww yeah coming to food, what delicious and amazing food was it, such a vast variety and all so good both breakfast dinner n the staff there were so helpful and kind, throughly enjoyed every bit of it... worth every penny spend

It was a mind blowing experience to spend 3 nights at the Poovar island resort. From the parking area, the boat arranged by the resort will take you to the resort which is about 3km away, thereby you will see the amazing backwaters on the way. The location is exquisite with backwaters in front of the resort, then the beach sand followed by beach water. The rooms were amazing, especially the water villas. The hospitality and food was also very good. The property is so huge and so very well managed, that one gets totally surprised. The swimming pool area is totally marvelous. Adding to all this, the spa experience is not one to be missed.

hotel property is nice, pool is very neat and clean. staff also cooperative but when we arrived the most bad thing happens to us that in room ac was not working, room flooring not good, dirty sofa, bathroom door cannot be closed so that things were not acceptable so we have complaint for the room change but on the day of arriving all rooms were booked. so on next day they gave us new premium room and it was very good(check photos) for vegetarians food is tasty but with limited options. over all it was a good experience. special thanks to vinod and dinesh for resolving our un-comfortableness and giving us a better service.

booked through goibibo. (thanks for the superb discount). stay was comfortable. vast area of greenery. just pure mental peace. nice pool. drinks inside pool. food is good. Food is costly. no other hotels nearby. for enjoying Poovar Island Resort, two days is enough. can overstay if more plans for nearby area. massage, games, boating etc available. rooms clean. peaceful and relaxing. that matters most. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR : rock and roll party types. it's a quiet place. FOR HOTEL MANAGER: the roofs of rooms are very very high. even though, AC cools the room immediately, but you can save power, if made to low roof.

Poovar Island Resort is situated in back waters. One has to go there by the boat. Poovar Island Resort arranges the boat for this movement. The location is nice. Staff is courteous. Rooms were bigger. what I did not like were - The complementary wi Fi was not working. Even after the complaint, no one looked into it. Poovar Island Resort overall seems to be an old property, thus certain things were very old such as locking system of the doors, bathroom doors etc. Some other resorts nearby seem relatively new (though I am not very sure about it as I did not stay there). Still overall a good stay.

First of all I wanted to clarify that this is an island resort not, and from here if you wanted to go to beach then you will have to take a boat arranged by Poovar Island Resort for that and they have timing for visiting the beach do you cannot visit in the evening. For going to the resort you have to take a boat. Location is very nice and the rooms are also spacious and with a little back yard for sitting. Restaurants of this hotel is not so good and the staff is also very lazy n non cooperative. Over all I had a good experience if I ignore the food....

We booked a floating cottage.It was great .Nice view,clean room,wide balcony.You can watch beautiful sunset .There is a big yoga center.we can join it for free.Taking for walk in the area in the evening is romantic and in the morning is refreshing. One thing we r disappointed is quality of food.....Our choice was only the restaurant. Not only salad n pasta but some curry were low level. I think the chef haven't tasted Italian foods.I saw many western people in the resort.I dont think they r happy...

Had a wonderful stay at poovar resort.. The location was perfect, wit a quiet atmosphere. The restaurant was also gud wit a gud ambience. Since I read the reviews before booking I preferred land cottages. And it fulfilled my expectations. The land cottages are neat and clean. The highlight of the stay was had a gud service from all the staffs. The only draw back I saw was not much recreations for the travellers.. I give a 4.5 of 5 n recommend th resort for al who love to be relaxed for a weekend..

Warm welcome with welcome drink. Staff is excellent,always ready to guide. Superb location.Poovar Island Resort is fantastic with greenery all around.We were at the Ayurvedic village cottage.Very peaceful.Rooms are of very high standards with huge bathroom.Very clean. Food is good.Service is better at the tiffins. A day is not enough if you want to be here.Minimum 3 days stay required to enjoy the beach just opposite to the resort.Floating cottages,take you to a different level of experience.

I can go on and on about this beautiful property with stunning views and 5 star facilities, lot of activities for children,live performances, ubercool pool ..their hospitality is too good, we were lucky to be able to celebrate mom's bday in such an exotic place for which they were kind enuf to gift her a bday cake(on the house)!! Another interesting feature of this place was a mangrove forest safari, again our first! All in all 10 on 10 👌😍 ,a must visit for everyone traveling to Kerela 💚😎

Amazing Nature Resort.Feel like we are in touch of God's nature.Very well built and Facilities are also good.My whole family enjoyed a lot in the Games zone and evening game specially for that day.We regretted that we just stayed for a day.It needs to be a 2 day stay.The only thing to improve is boat service as we have to wait at;east half an hr when we wee about to check in the resort.Need to increase number of boats so that guests coming need not to wait a lot.Its very time consuming.

Superb!!! Superb is the word to describe this resort. Location, rooms, food, service, in fact everything about this resort was superb. They have a 24 hour ferry service to take you to this resort from the parking point. Resort is huge lush green. It also has a swimming pool and kids play area. Rooms are quite big and well maintained. You can also book floating cottages but only from poovar island website. Food is awesome and breakfast has many options. Staff is very courteous.

Poovar island is a beautful backwater hideaway located close to Trivandrum. The resort is top notch with unique floating cottages where we stayed.The thrill begins with the speed boat pickup from Poovar jetty and as you approach the resort you realise this is one of a kind vacation that you are in for.The ambience, amenities and service are all top class.Ideal getaway close to Trivandrum airport.We drove from Coimbatore with an overnght stay in Ernakulam .

Resort is located in an island which means from certain point you have to travel by boat as for car there is no road. Resort is in 25 acres of land to one side you can see ocean and on other lacke. Resort is very beautifully designed swimming pool, Yoga & meditation open area, kids zone and lugh green area for relaxing. Food is Awesome. Breakfast has many variety of dishes. 2 nights are less to enjoy a this resort. I personally recommend this resort.
