Sterling Kodai Lake

We had a wonderful experience and stay at Sterling Kodai lake resort. The customer service was top notch and we were pampered to one of the best experiences. Sterling Kodai Lake staff was very charming and helpful, particularly we would like to mention the care provided by Ms. Sathya Bhama during our whole stay right from check in to checkout. She had left her contact number for us to call for any help needed, also check with us from time to time to see if everything was alright. Thank you Sathya. Kids too had a wonderful time in Sterling Kodai as they had lot of opportunities for engagements (like play area, board games, video games, VR Headset etc). Mr. Sunny(who was incharge of the play area) was a charming personality and perfect match for handling the kids. We really wanted to have Bajji and tea from one of the lake side shops but considering the hygiene conditions, we thought better not to have it .however to our surprise when we came back to Sterling Kodai Lake in the evening, they had set up a tea stall and snack counter in the lawn area of Sterling Kodai Lake and we happily had our much wanted Bajji and tea.(Please note that Kodai lake side / public places are not at all dirty and is well maintained and clean) Sterling Kodai Lake had many green initiatives and we much appreciated the serving of food and beverages in non -plastic plates and cups. Even the disposable fork and spoon used in the garden tea stall was wooden!! Breakfast (was free for us with the room) is worth mentioning (the spread was amazing) and we would like to thank Ms. Title for her wonderful services. We also availed their Ayurvedic massage therapy and really enjoyed it. The services provided by Deepthy and Narsan were truly remarkable. I cannot think of any areas that require improvement except for the availability of free wifi in rooms. (although, they provide 1 hr free wifi access for one gadget per room, I think it is not the best one as now a days wifi is freely available even in public places). The work done by housekeeping staff also is worth mentioning and their sense of urgency and prompt services cannot be overlooked. Everything was perfect, crisp and clean and what made it more attractive was Sterling Kodai Lake staff. Thank you all. We were truly flabbergasted!!!

It was amazing trip and stay in Kodaikanal @Sterling Kodai Lake. The staff members were so friendly and caring. We were welcomed and guided to resort by Miss.Bobby and Miss.Liancy. The resort has holiday activites which conducts indoor and outdoor activites. Few indoor activities were complimentary and others were chargable. Adventure activities were arranged by holiday activity team and it was completely safe. Mr.Sathish had arranged night camp @Pallangi village mountain for us and It was amazing experience, view and fun for me & my wife on our first year wedding anniversary. Sathish was ensuring our safety during drop, pickup and stay at night camp by calling multiple times to camp organizer and mannaged everything well in all the possible way. Trust me guys on night camp there were 3 gangs and we were only couple and other 2 were boys gang. We enjoyed TT and VR games in indoor activity. The holiday activity team were having photoshoot option (Chargable). Since, It was out first anniversary, We decided to take photos. Mr.Abijit was taking photoshoot & Sathis was helping us to decide pose and places. We had around 2 hours of photoshoot and that was completely fun filled hours. Hotel management arranged cake cutting for out first wedding anniversary, it was surprise and fun. We felt price is little costly for food. Hotel can provide BBQ style arrangement for Lunch and Dinner buffet for same price. Though price little high for all chargable elements (Food, Activity and Travel) nothing to regret. Complete trip, stay and activities conducted by hotel.

The property is located in a distance of about 500 meters from the lake. The open area of the restaurant has a stunning view of the lake and some heritage homes of the Kodai village on the opposite side of the property. The property is a good option for travelers who intends to relax and enjoy the weather. I had booked classic room for four nights starting February 11, 2017 at  ** (total cost for four days including break fast). I was upgraded to a G+1, one BHK cottage with private balcony. Hence, for me, the luxury of the resort and value spent for that had no symmetry. It is no less than a four star resort, equipped with all the amenities. Additionally, the events organized by the event team every evening is an icing on the cake. The dinner party for the valentines day was memorable and they have not charged anything incremental to the daily dinner package booked by us. The food is very good, however the options for lunch are limited. They have a small van for the snacks, not too great and not too bad. If you are not a sterling member, the food could turn out to be dear. Overall, it is a wonderful experience. All the activities (cycling, sight seeing, etc.) are on chargeable basis, but it is worth the spend. One will be extremely delighted if the price paid for the property is restricted to ** per night for a couple. Anything over that for a classic room or a 1 BHK cottage needs to be given a second thought. Value (value in this case includes the worthiness of time spend and luxury) for money was the biggest element for me.

Amazing stay at Sterling kodai Lake. So booked here for a 4 day stay. This was a special occassion on my fathers bday and I wanted to give him a surprise. Ive booked 2 Superior rooms. The rooms were very clean, washrooms were well maintained and tidy. Other ameneties as such complimentary water bottles, microwave oven, room heaters, hair dryer, utensils were provided as described. Cake arrangements were made as described. Children play area is available and they do conduct activities during evenings. They do provide battery operated cars while we arrive to take us to the rooms and a staff is appointed to take care of the luggages. Hotel staffs starting from front office to the house keeping are very proffesional and caring. Hotel location is close to the lake. Lake view from the room is not possible under any circumstance. Restaurant and food is just awesome Breakfast is excellent with lots of choice to choose from. I guess food pricing could be improved and shifted to a little nominal side so that every one could enjoy having it. They planned and arranged our touring for the 2 days(Day-1 Nature tour package / Day-2 Heritagr tour). Choose these two if you wish to. Car rental rates are ok and the drivers are super friendly. Even my 2 year old got friendly with them. You could ask for the driver Pandian. He was super excellent, very professional and took a stops as per the requirement as we had an infant with us. I will definitely be booking my next stay at one of the sterling properties.

We are a group of 12 people and booked 6 rooms in this place through goibibo at a very decent price. Now coming to the resort we plan and travel together to some tourist destination once in every 3-4 months and stayed at all possible places from 5 star hotels to home stays but Kodai by the lake is by far the best experience we ever had.Very beautiful and amazing property.Rooms were very well maintained.Bath rooms were very very well maintained. And coming to the staff they were super friendly and assisted us in all possible ways round the clock.Especially Ajit, he arranged us an awesome party place on the terrace with bonfire and music though we were only 12 people.And a special shout out to their chef *forgot his name* he met us personally and arranged a customised delicious 5 course meal for the night party and the food was amazing. For me to go on a holiday with besties is always a happy and joyful experience and that holiday feel starts with Sterling Kodai Lake I check in. Kodai by the lake provided me that experience. A truly wonderful and pleasant fun filled stay. Truly amazing. Cheers.

We stayed in premier room on 11th March to 13th March with my family. Hotel hospitality and service was extremely good. Food on alacarte dinner was taking more time to deliver and food tastes differs day to day. We ordered a soup which was delicious on the first day and the same ordered on the second day was not good. Not sure what happened 💁🏻‍♂️. Morning buffet was good. Specially the tea shop setup on the lawn area at evening was really good with hot bajjis on a cool climate. There was many indoor games and play area for kids. (Play station, virtual game and even they arranged game area for infants) Good thing is they have given us early check-in without any charge. Pros: Since there was some renovation works were taken in our premier room block. There was more wooden dust were spreaded on the stairs which was very uneasy for us and elderly people. Kindly try to avoid allocate rooms on the renovation blocks. As a family, We loved there hospitality and the beautiful gardening area which was maintained well. My kid loved the play area and indoor games.

Overall a good hotel , very friendly and helpful staff . Especially helpful were mr Nagaraj ( front desk ) and others in the restaurant . The rooms are very good and clean . They had organized a sunday carnival which was very helpful for families with kids from getting bored . There is also a kids play area outside ( park ) and a small play area for toddlers ( inside ) . Very useful for families with kids .The street food cart which was a separate kitchen near the play area ( fashioned like a van ) operated between certain timings and is a must eat . The spring rolls and samosas from the street food cart were finger liking good and not costly also . (when compared to the room service ). Cons : the front office should have a system of checking if guests are veg or non veg and report back to the Chef . The non veg options for the buffet were very limited . OVERALL an excellent place with really friendly & supportive staff . MUST STAY IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT .

Excellent hotel with nice service and cafeteria. The rooms are clean and their Housekeeping team really needs to be appreciated for that. Its a very well maintained beautiful Resort - Well maintained gardens - Couples can enjoy and relax within hotel itself + Children's play area is big enough to do/play lots of things. I would not recommend this hotel for a solo person to visit unless you want spend more money on hotel. Location of this resort is beautiful - Spectacular views just outside of hotel and from cafeteria. Decent spread of food and morning buffet breakfast was great. We could take long walks and a cycle ride by the lake side. Their Front office team is good. Though the check-in time was @12 noon, they granted us a room @9 AM.

Sterling Kodai Lake has a nice cottages format layout. Rooms are spacious and all basic amenities needed is available. No AC or fan, but i think thats the case with all Sterling Kodai Lakes in Kodai - we travelled in Feb so neither was required considering the cool climate. Heater is provided. Staff was polite and helpful. There is 1 battery operated cart for reaching from the reception bldg to room. Sometimes you may have to wait if it is dropping others or is being charged. Do not expect any views from Sterling Kodai Lake room, but there are spots in the property from where good view of the lake and mountains can be seen. Overall, stay experience was good and within the property a good relaxing walk could be taken

The resort is in an excellent location though not very near to the lake. The rooms are very well maintained. There are lot many activities atleast for the kids to be occupied with. Being in vicinity to the lake, you can access the surrounding area and the facilities at ease. I would also say food being served is at its best. You can have varieties in the resort itself that will surely suits your taste buds. Above and all the best part was the staff around, they were very well mannered and very much helpful. You can even ask the Chef to prepare food that suits your taste buds. In and all it was a wonderful stay in Sterling - Kodai by lake. I would very much recommend this resort if you are staying in Kodaikanal.

My parents stayed at Sterling Kodai Lake for 3 days & the overall experience has been great! Quick response to any room service, clean premises, great ambience surrounded by greenery, polite & helpful staff and the breakfast spread was splendid. Sterling Kodai Lake arranged for a quick Doctor visit (heard the Doctor is very renowned in Kodaikanal) since my Mother sprained her toes & they took good care of her to make sure she recovered soon. One of the best places to stay in Kodaikanal. Thank you Sterling Kodai Lake for taking good care of my parents & giving them a great service!!! 5 stars for sure! Cleanliness, food taste & quality, room service, quick Doctor assistance, ambience of the resort. Peaceful!

Room was very spacious and neatly maintained...All the basic amenities like mini Refrigerator, Geyser, electric kettle, TV with Airtel Dish TV SD Channels and Room heater are available. Staff's behavior was very friendly and supportive. They were over enthusiastic about their guests comfort. Food was very expensive in my opinion...so frankly I didn't tried that. Surrounding of rooms was so exquisite, I couldn't express that feeling. Privacy is the main moto of Sterling Kodai Lake Hotel. In evening we went on walk around the Lake. It was very amazing and charming experience. Next day only we roamed around the Kodaikanal. Thanks to Hotel staff for making our stay memorable.

The Resort is good and nicely maintained. Good food at the restaurant. Everything good except the service and hospitality. -I stayed at the executive suite, but the bathroom didn't had towel/mattress, soap/shampoo, etc which are provided even by the 2* resort, were missing here. -STP plant just behind the rooms smells very foul at night. we thought to sit outside during night but had to change the plan due to smell. -While checking out I had to wait more than 30 mins, called twice and visited the reception to ask someone to pick the luggage. Finally I picked up the luggage myself and passed on the keys at the reception, expressing my unhappiness about the delays.

It's an amazing property and superbly maintained. We are truly enjoying our stay. It's situated just few meters walk away from lake. Has got great view altogether. This hotel has got best in class staff. They are courteous, efficient n ever smiling.It has loads of in house activity so even if you are not fond of sightseeing you will have great time. Very well situated cottages are a plus point. Good room size, room heater, geyser makes your stay even more comfortable. Food is amazing.. be it complimentary buffet breakfast or the ala carte and drinks.. We would like to stay at this place every time we are in Kodaikanal..

The resort was beautiful. There is no specific view from this resort - it is just visible from the lake. the rooms are good especially the sofa cum bed was so comfortable. the working staff were very cordial but the reception staff and the dining area staff could be more cordial. when asked just two idlies for my 2 year old they had to take some approval to take it to room. loved the chirping birds in the morning and also so many variety of flowering trees is the highlight. the entertainment area had a karaoke which was best . had great fun. also they celebrated fries day with a mascot which kids liked.

Pros: The property was located it the heart of kodai and it has excellent connectivity. If you are looking to book a stay and enjoy without much planning this is your ideal place. You need not worry about your todo list in kodai, your evenings are usually well spent due to activities held at Sterling Kodai Lake (if you are interested) Cons: No Internet or WiFi in rooms No Balcony was there in my room, i book some mid category room not the entry category. Sheets had stain marks Light music should have local languages like tamil and Malayalam (crowd enjoys these languages as much as they like hindi)

Awesome stay. Excellent breakfast and staff we're very courteous. Battery car provided to commute to the cottages was really helpful. I would really wish to appreciate the restaurant manager Mr. Anil who was very kind enough and helpful. Rooms can be maintained much more cleaner because there were dirt under the cot. Rates of the food cost in the restaurant can be slightly reduced because it was expensive. Outdoor activities/games can be added more. I felt that the checkout time was very early which is around 10am which can be increased to 11am or 12pm. Other than this, it was a satisfied stay.

Our stay in your hotel was excellent. We had wonderful experience with your hotel. Surroundings are full of greenery and well maintained. Sterling Kodai Lake staff were very well behaved and and polite. Food was very very good and tasty. Being my first visit to Kodai, we had to ask a few people how to reach your hotel, but correct information was given how to reach there. The only little bit problem we faced is some problem on mobile range. Overall we had a very god experience with your hotel. We surely will recommend this hotel to my friends and acquaintances. It's a good 3 star property. If you don't compare it with Club Mahindra (which is actually a 5star one), the overall experience looks fine. The rooms are smaller is size and the campus is also quite small. However, the property is quite well maintained. The breakfast spread was good, however the Lunch & Dinner packages are not worth the money, especially for non-veg lovers. t The location is also not much exotic. So, if you are looking for a hotel like stay, this place is good. But if you want to enjoy the resort like feeling, you may better look for other options..
