Sterling Kodai Valley

To start with ny review, I have to say one thing first. I had stayed in sterling in my school days. My father is a member in sterling time share company. we used to stay in sterling lake resort every year for a week. But due to sterling's new policies we were unable to stay there. After 20 years of break , I got an opportunity to stay in sterling again. But this time not as a member. To say in simple words sterling resorts is always the best. I cannot find any difference in the last 20 years. Great ambiance superb atmosphere. pleasant stay. Great place for children. I love sterling a lot. It brought my school day memories back.We booked in *** for a better price along with a complimentary dinner for one night beside the complimentary breakfast for rest of the days, which was surprise for us. The buffet arrangement both in the dinner and breakfast was superb. Nothing to say other than that. Apart from all the above positive points, There are something to say which I don't like. First thing was They told that the will provide a electronic key. But when we checked in the door was already open and we were informed that the master key is only available and the guest key is repair. They will provide it sometimes later. The waiter asked me to insert a visiting card in the main power socket for the timebeing but it too did not work properly. Then i called a waiter and informed about that . He came and folded a thick sheet and inserted in tightly. Then asked me to do so when I return back to room . Nothing issue in that but we don't expect such sorts of things in a 3 star hotel. No 2 I brought my family along with me to stay there. I have a 1 year kid. He needs milk frequently. So I was curious about how to manage that. so I confirmed with Sterling Kodai Valley reception over the phone about the availability of microwave oven and refrigerator in the room before I confirm my booking in ***. The receptionist also confirmed that the both are available in classic room. When I entered the room , I was shocked to see that there was no oven. I called the reception again and asked for a oven. but they denied saying usually no oven is provided for classic room. I was wondering why I called the resort for inquiring about the oven. Such an irresponsible person has attended the call. Dear Hotelists. Please appoint responsible persons to attend the phone calls. Travellers will be relying truly upon what you say at the help desk. A small misguidance may result in serious problems for travellers.Thank god.There was an electric kettle in the room, with which we managed to boil the milk. No 3 The room service person for room cleaning came only by afternoon 3 o clock only. These are all not expectable in a star hotel like sterling. And apart from all the above , staying at sterling is more enjoyable and pleasant one which no one can deny. If someone asks me about sterling, I will definitely recommend without thinking for a choice. Sterling is always simply superb.

We stayed in the 4 Star Hotel Sterling Kodai Valley in July 2018. Sharing feedback based on real-time experience 1. PLUS POINTS: Great Food, Good Recreational Activities, Friendly Staff, Ample Parking space, Plenty of Holiday Activity Options provided by Hotel SPECIAL MENTION OF STAFF: Chandan (Restaurant Manager), Lokesh (From Restaurant), Danielle (From Holiday Activity Center) 2. NEGATIVE POINTS: ILL MAINTAINED & SMALL ROOMS, Below-average Furniture, Small & Ill maintained Bathrooms. WHY CHOOSE THIS HOTEL: EXCELLENT FOOD: The Food here is excellent. Buffet Spread is rich for Breakfast & Dinner GREAT RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES: They have good options for recreational activities like 3D Movie theatre (capacity:11), Badminton, Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Kids activities. NICE HOLIDAY ACTIVITY OPTIONS: Sterling Kodai Valley's activity center offers a range of packages for Sightseeing for its Guests which includes a short Trekking Trip & Night Safari. Night Safari is to a limited area though. TIP: Ask them for the tour Brochure. FRIENDLY STAFF: The staff is quite Friendly & helpful. They will go an extra mile to make the Guests comfortable. HUGE HOTEL AREA: Sterling Kodai Valley architecture is Good and is spread across a huge area with beautifully designed gardens & spacious & organized Parking area. WHY NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL: AVERAGE ROOMS: The Rooms are too small. The 3 types of Room Types are CLASSIC ROOM, PREMIER ROOM & PRIVILEGE SUITE. None of the Rooms have 4 Star hotel maintenance. Tip : Don’t go for Classic or Premiere Room. These Room types have nothing like a 4-Star hotel facility. Both Classic & Premier Type of Rooms are extremely small! Classic Room Type doesn't even have a study table! BELOW-AVERAGE FURNITURE: The furniture used in Rooms is below average. Looks very old & overused. Unlike a 4-Start Hotel, mostly low quality wood has been used for tables, bed-side table & cupboard. The Bed was shabby & Table & Chair was ill maintained, VERY SMALL BATHROOMS: The Bathroom was another negative point. Too small bathrooms. Functionality issues were encountered.

This was my first trip to Kodaikanal and what a spectacular experience it has been! There's a reason why the Sterling has earned a reputation for itself over the years. The view from the room was to die for and I'm not exaggerating. But what I genuinely loved about the stay was the genuine hospitality extended by the Sterling staff namely Mr. Kaliswaran (Manager) who is truly a lifesaver as he single-handedly took care of all our travel packages along with useful suggestions on places to visit and most customised to our specific needs. Mr. Gopalan R (Driver) is a walking encyclopaedia in himself, the sheer knowledge of the place that the gentleman holds added to the driving experience. And the housekeeping staff, particularly Mr. Sagar (Housekeeping) took care of any need we may have with a genuine touch of care and concern. A special shoutout to Ms. Sasirekha (Travel Desk) as well lord nows that I can be quite the moody guest and the lady did not lose her patience with me. The Sterling Valley has really added to my entire experience of this trip as I really operated with a sense of security as I knew that all my hassles are taken care of. And this is an honest feedback from the POV of a slightly difficult guest and this place has truly humbled me. I'm genuinely grateful to the Sterling for the service that they have offered me.

Sterling Kodai Valley is very nice and i would recommend people to stay in this hotel Pros: Room is nice Away from the city hence good scenic view Hotel Restaurant is very nice Complement Breakfast Buffet is awesome Hotel Staff is friendly Cons: No lift facility to go to the upstairs if room is allocated in 2nd floor Wifi is available only in the lobby but not in the room, not even in the dining Improvements That can be done: Welcome drink is constraint to only lemon tea. Nice to have more options as the every customer is not interested to have that Provide wifi in the room also Improvement in Checkout/Checkin - It should be fast. Reception people have to explain the amenities in Sterling Kodai Valley in which some are complimentary and some are not. Overall hotel is very good and i have enjoyed the stay in Sterling Kodai Valley.

Hotel location and the scenery is so good to spend time there... A bit far from the main kodaikanal town and no bus facility, only way is to avail the resort cab facility who charges a million for a kilometer.. Food is way too costly so don't plan your lunch/dinner time to be in the resort there are awesome hotel like royal tibet for tibetian type food and woodland premium hotel who provide awesome food so visit these hotels.... the resort is best place if you are traveling in your own vehicle and can travel 5 kms everyike you feel hungry... A best place to stay, i would recommend the resort to all fellow travelers.. staffs are so helpful and service is so good... the staffs displayed a huge responsibility towards their guests and answered and arranged all your needs on a small single call.... l

Best place to be with friends and family. Lots of activities are available for free of cost. Reasonable price! Best customer care service. Best view of kodaikonal from the room and balcony. Balcony is best place to have a coffee with your loved one along with the view of beautiful kodaikonal. Complementary Breakfast is awesome. Worth staying in Sterling kodai! Membership is added advantage, For additional information Contact Mr. Murali and Mrs. Vidhya they will give best assistance and help in anytime. Then Mr.Pawan -Front office executive and Mr. Arun and Mr. Kishore - Restaurant and Bar have assisted us smoothly. I had a great stay! Thanks Sterling kodai team! Keep Rocking!

I HAVE RATED 5/5 FOR MOST OF THE PARAMETERS EXCEPT THE ACTIVITIES WHICH WAS AVERAGE FOR A RESORT OF THIS KIND. BUT TRULY AN AMAZING ROOM AT THE SECOND FLOOR THAT GAVE ALMOST THE EXACT VIEW AS GIVEN IN THEIR ADVERTISEMENT FOR THEIR RESORT. VALUE FOR MONEY IS RATED 5/5 SINCE I BOOKED IT THROUGH MAKE MY TRIP. CONSIDERING WITHOUT OFFERS THE PRICING COULD STILL BE CONSIDERED FAIR. SERVICE IN COMPARISON TO FIVE STAR IS A MATCH BOTH THE INROOM DINING AND THE RESTAURANT. FANTASTIC MORNING BUFFET BREAKFAST. TAXIS ARE QUITE EXPENSIVE WHICH IS NATURAL FOR A PLACE LIKE THAT. ON THE WHOLE STERLING VALLEY VIEW KODAI DESERVES 5/5 EXCEPT HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES AT THE RESORT.

i had come with my family to stay at this resort. we had taken 2 privilege suite rooms and had stayed for 3 nights.. basically i did not feel that as a suite bcos it was a duplex and very small....... second problem we faced was that there was no hot water in the shower... the hot water supply to the shower was limited only for five minutes.. this is the case with evry room in the resort.. thirdly, i had to wait for nearly 1 and half hour to get my room heater changed.. i had called thrice and when i got rude with the house keeping on my third call, they changed it then.. the restaurant manger also did not seem so polite..

Sterling Kodai Valley is very good. Nice location, well planned and lots f other activities to indulge in. Rooms were clean n well maintained. There were only two issues, first the restaurant was very costly n since Sterling Kodai Valley is located on the outskirts, there is no other option to go for plus the wi-fi was chargable as most f the networks have signal problems in that area. Secondly there was no driver room in Sterling Kodai Valley which was difficult to understand as it is impossible for a person to sleep in car in a place such as kodaikanal where nights r too cold. Rest everything was grt n we enjoyed our stay

Memorable Stay!! Right from booking, check in and check out - everything went smoother. Front desk people are very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable with all required amenities. Breakfast provided was excellent but the people in the restaurant need training to serve better. However, the food (ala carte menu served in-room dining) was very expensive which can be reviewed by management - so lot of people will consume food in the resort itself if it is affordable. Special Thanks to Lokesh (restaurant), Jenifer & Suseela (reception) for their exceptional service which made my stay an unforgettable one.

I had a 2 night stay , and were very satisfied with every aspect of Sterling Kodai Valley. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable regarding places to visit in kodaikanal especially Mr. Ramesh helped me to have a memorable visit to kodaikanal by guiding me to regarding places. Sterling Kodai Valley is very clean throughout, and our room was spacious with everything that we needed. Breakfast was mouthwatering, and suited all tastes. Sterling Kodai Valley is quiet, and is situated near to numerous tourist spots within easy walking distance. We would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

The overall experience was good. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. Only negative was that the paint over the walls in some parts of the room were coming off due to wet weather conditions. So asked them to change our room to a different one. We were then shifted to a new room. It was better but even that room had the same issue in some parts of the room. But the staff was so good that they tried their best to cover it using new coat of paint in very little time and without us knowing that. The location, food, parking etc was really good too but the food is on the expensive side.

The view from the room was amazing.. you can get the actual feel of kodaikanal here.. It is a bit away from the main city area and the cab charges comes around Rs 300 for one way but you can take bus which you can get just outside Sterling Kodai Valley which costs Rs 10 per person... The service here was very good since we had our check out at 10am and train back home at 9pm so they helped us by keeping the luggage at their tourist partner's place which is in the city area.. So we saved Rs 500 as we didn't have to go to Sterling Kodai Valley back to only collect the luggage.

We had a nice stay in a twin bedroom suite. The view from the room was awesome valley view. The rooms were clean n neat. It had all the accessories with TV and room heater in two rooms including the hall. Could have placed mirror out side bathroom for dressing.. for the kids in the discovery centre they had all the fun activities like painting, PlayStation, water pellet guns n etc which are chargeable still we can engage the kids over there. Felt the buffet was little on the expensive side but every buffet had various varieties anyways could not eat more 😀..

Awesome rooms, amazing view, good amenities and first-class service. The only drawback was the food. The restaurant was classy with fancy interiors but it was the most horrible vegetarian food I ever tasted. I do not know about non-vegetarian. We booked for 3 days with breakfast as the resort is a little away from the city, food was a huge let-down. Also it was too pricy for the quality of food served. Otherwise, I would say it was a very good stay. I would still prefer to stay at this place if you can plan ahead for food.

1)Mr.Ramesh hospitality at dining area was excellent.He receives the customer pleasantly and ensure that we enjoyed the food to our taste.I will give 5/5 rating to Mr.Ramesh. 2)House keeping is really excellent,supervisiors checking the cleanliness of the room in regular intervals. 3) Overall hospitality was really good at this resort. 4) Excellent resort for pleasant stay 5) Holiday activities should be improved.... Indoor games missing...but It is good.

They renovated and its with brand new qualities , the staffs are very good and served nice food. we enjoyed our stay with very beautiful valley view especially my son he enjoyed the changes like hide and seek of mist and cloud on the mountains, the indoor toys and paid games as well too good , The outdoor play area we unable to use it since they renovating it ! overall its a nice pick if you have arrangement for commute! Thank you Valley :)

resort located in a nice area ...friendly staff..good view from hotel room of valley ..nice and quiet ambience ... retaurant offers good food . various tour packages offered by the resort for sight seeing arround kodaikanal...Resort also offers various activities for people preferring to stay bavk and enjoy time at the resort suvh as spa ,painting classes, bon fire etc...overall good exerience

Good resort with good location with all co operating staff i enjoyed a lot staying with my daughter and wife nice and clean resort food provided to us was very tasty thanks to restaurant manager Ramesh sir and reception members Vidya, Abraham, Amal, Rajesh were very polite and Co operative I recommend every one to visit this sterling kodai Valley resort it is simply Holiday differently

Excellent property. A little far from the main city where all the action is. However, the property is great and very well managed. Sterling never compromises on the quality and cleanliness. A couple of improvement areas: they should change the gels that they provide in bathrooms. Its extremely poor quality and makes skin dry. They should also improve the buffet spread and food quality.
