Reached my destination(aka Dukes) an hour early(usual check in is 1:00pm) anticipating heavy traffic from mumbai ,considering it was a Valentines weekend. The staff was very hospitable and kind enough to help me ,my spouse and my 2 year kid check in as soon as i reached. The Executive rooms i had booked ,have a partial but breath taking view. Buffet lunch at the Duchess is simply delicious. Evening snacks at the Panaroma cafe ,pool side with entertainment for the kids was amazing. For dinner I recommend driving to Kinara village dhaba, 10 kms from Dukes, for great food and live ghazals in a huge mck village setup, complete with the Rajwadas and camels et al. Back to the Dukes, mornings make a great time for photo shoot at the Lawns or the High point area. The staff was extremely helpful, assistive and caring. My child was very cheerful considering he isnt very good around strangers. I am looking forward to my next visit to Dukes Retreat soon.
it was great coming to dukes agn post pandemic as I am regular guest over here.i like the ambiance over here. the staff very courteous and polite.it just that they have set up limited time period for food I personally think they should extend time period for breakfast lunch and dinner as well there were limited options for ala carte. let's understand guests come for leisure and enjoyment. as well I was not able to use the gym as one of the staff told me its closed for renovation other told me it will open by 9.00 am so no proper information .nevertheless overall it was great coming to dukes agn most probably I will be there in monsoon. nothing as such i have been with friends to many places but being a solo traveler u are independent to enjoy ur day as you like.
The Dukes Retreat started our pretty decent. the view of from The Dukes Retreat room was pretty wow. we stayed in the deluxe room and were happy for the value for money. The Dukes Retreat has a decent pool although I thought the water wasn't as clean as a 5 star property should. there was greenery everywhere. it has a relaxing terrace over looking a beautiful view. food I thought could have been better. I do not recommend the buffet instead try the a la carte. the watchman at the door were slightly daft and took almost 10 mins to confirm that we were guests at The Dukes Retreat although we met him the same day earlier. overall The Dukes Retreat is well maintained being an older property as compared to many of its peers and would consider going again for a weekend.
I stayed at this resort on 21st Feb 2016 along with my wife and our 6 months old daughter. Few things i liked the most during the stay are : 1) We were well attended at reception and were guided to our room within 5 min. All the necessary info was provided to us on the way to our room itself which saved us a lot of trouble and time. 2) We had booked executive room and it was spacious, neat and clean. 3) Housekeeping\Room Service was prompt and well mannered. 4) we were provided all the help needed to prepare the baby food using the raw ingredients we were carrying. 5) View from the duchess restaurant was awesome and breakfast was sumptuous. Cons: 1) Menu lacks variety.
Great Resort with amazing View , Staff is really polite. Location is the best and delux rooms comes with Valley View . 10 out of 10 for location and service . Only drawback is none of the room has Bath tub or jacuzzi and no Live Music or any kind of music on deck and cafe. They have Vallet Parking facility. Accesible for Disable people also. Great View, Location, Service and most importantly Breakfast with Valley view and deck and cafe also has valley view. They allow food from outside so incase you dont find food of your like in menu, You can order it from outside. Pool is cool and they have staff availbale to help you all the time.
I started going to Lonavala 15 years back but had never understood the beauty of Sahyadris until I stayed this time at DUKES RETREAT. It has an amazing locating with rooms, restaurant & terrace open to the sky facing the Sahyadris. Luckily the weather was beautiful with temperatures in night falling to around 10 deg. This place is for complete relaxation. It has a good swimming pool, children play area, and also a big lawn for doing any large activities. One of the best part is the cafeteria beside the swimming pool and a Gazebo with Sofas closeby which can be used to spend quality time chit-chatting with Family & friends.
The Dukes Retreat is good and the staff is very co-operative..The buffet breakfast and dinner were delicious with good variety of dishes..Suggest they add the evening snacks and cocktails option with the extra cost in the package itself.. My 4 year old daughter enjoyed a lot in the kids pool.. We asked for extention for check out by an hour and The Dukes Retreat readily agreed. Both the check in and check out was smooth.. The changing rooms near the pool area needs improvement..A steam bath option can be added as provided in most 5 star hotels now.. Overall a good stay..
Room was good..but had leakages and paint peeled off at few locations. But the room was generally clean though. Swimming pool was well maintained but I guess the water had a touch of chlorine more than required. Games room is too small and needs improvement. Food was amazing...but a touch expensive. Room service was a bit on the slower side. Can be better. Overall a very good experience but management can think of better utilization of space..
Got an amazing offer from Ibibo and paid a very nominal amount for 2 amazing rooms here. I absolutely loved the place. The balcony, garden outside the room, cleanliness, staff and service is impeccable. The place is definitely 5 star standards and I preferred the rooms, service and ambience here more than when compared to many other hotels. Lovely stay! Will definitely come back again for a longer time! Thanks guys, keep up the great work!
Very nice and a Peaceful place if like to enjoy the calm nature, beautiful views of Valley. Place was well maintained, buffet lunch was really nice. play area for the kids was a surprise the place really needs to advertise as honestly i was not aware at the time of booking but was happy to see so many indoor games at disposal. The bonus could have been the pool area which was closed, but acceptable due to the pandemic situation.
The Dukes Retreat is a great Calm place to detox. This property has a wonderful Beautiful Scenic location with ample lush-green free space. The Rooms facing the Valley delivers true experience of living in a valley. The pool is clean and large enough! The Terrace view is wonderful and its quite breezy to spend your evenings. The property has a lot of options to keep the kids busy from game zone, TT, Library, Play area etc.
Hotel is excellent. Location is very good & view from every room is also good. Helpful staff. Enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was good but can be improved. But food is very very very costly. One chai will cost 180/- & one Dal Tadka will cost 500/- If you have vehicle then you can go in town for lunch or dinner. If vehicle is not there then kindly ensure you take food packed with you. Because there are no nearby restaurants.
Great resort with ample amenities and very courteous staff. Resort is old but well maintained with some parts under renovation. Nice pool and indoor / outdoor games room. Chairman's lawn is well suited for playing cricket, soccer or anything else that a family desires. While the food buffets are sumptuous, they are a tad expensive (if not already in your room package). Overall highly recommended for a leisure getaway
Everything is excellent except that the front desk needs to be more customer friendly. It's a small desk & have to wait long if 2-3 customers come together. They are not very accommodating if u need to check out a couple of hours late, unlike many other hotels. That just refuse u outright that u can't stay longer as was made very clear to me by Mr Jitender even after politely asking. & I stayed for 3 nights.
The resort had kept a drawing competition for children during our stay. My daughter didn't won the gift but the host told me that he would give a gift, my daughter was excited that she would be getting a gift. But the gift was never given to my daughter and she was unhappy about it. My purpose of coming to Duke as it advertise as a family resort but my daughter felt disappointed with the resort and me too
Its All About the Amazing View from their Vally View Room, Helpful Staff especially Shahida and Yogesh from Front Desk were very hospitable, Food is also Very Good and Reasonably Priced, Breakfast Buffet has good variety for Food. This must be my 7 or 8 th stay in this Hotel, Just 1.5 hrs from Mumbai so Journey not too long and Market and Other Places Also within 15 - 30 mins Drive.
Had a good stay and overall experience was also very good. The property has very good location, roos have good view of the mountains. Food is also very tasty , and has good variety as well. Staff is very courteous, friendly and well trained. Has decent recreation activities , and one can simply relax . would recommend to families, couples, business travellers alike.
Great experience at Dukes Retreat... Good property with good scenic views.. Clean rooms... Staff was also courteous and room services were quick. We also liked the food (no buffet during our stay..hence opted for alacarte vegetarian food). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Duke's. Ambience, hospitality, hygienic rooms, top view for selfies...
Good experience other than limited option of food menu in Al-CARTE n buffet lunch/ dinner. Rooms are spacious n clean. Multiple time room cleaning is good, whenever you are back to room after roaming , you will get clean n tidy room. Swimming pool is big n clean with attentive staff. Overall good experience with good price from Go ibibo..
the resort is at the best possible location around lonavala and khandala and offers great views..the experience of stay at the resort was good but not up to the mark when the prices come into the equation..the food is also quite expensive...but if i ever go back to lonavala or khandala, this is the place i am gonna stay...
