We,a couple, stayed in The Tamara Coorg from 15th March to 18 March 2022.Right from the check-in to check-out experience was top notch. The Tamara Coorg property is an upscaled 5 star property in every possible sense. The wooden huts in the resort are built by N Mahesh, an acclaimed architecture,in Bali style .We booked a luxury category cottage. We were served Bella Coffee(A traditional Karnataka Coffee made with Jaggery, Cardamon and Cinnamon) on arrival as a welcome drink. It was rejuvenating and refreshing. The check in experience was super smooth.Though the official check-in time was 2:00P.M. but we informed them that we will be arriving early, they were kind enough to let us an early check-in.The resort is built in 184 acres of dense forest cover land and boasts of an in house restaurant named 'The Falls',two temperature controlled swimming pools(i.e.one indoor and one outdoor) with each having 4 feet depth, plethora of unpaid and paid activities such as bird watching, star gazing, trekking, coffee plantation tour, live music, plantation tour, zumba, spa etc. What impressed me the most is their detailing and eco friendly approach in each and everything. They use their own electric baggies for catering to varieties of guest's needs be it room service, housekeeping, taking and dropping guests to different spots in the property. They gave jute slippers, even the toothbrush in the dental kit was wooden. They have literally zeroed down the use of plastic in their property. We opted for CP plan. The breakfast buffet spread was good.We dinned in their in house restaurant thrice. We ordered Coorg curry, mushroom masala curry, kadhai paneer, curd rice, veg hakka noodles, veg pulao, garlic naan, stuffed kulchas and akki roti. The portion size, quality, taste, hygiene and presentation each and everything was top class. The chef customized certain dishes on our request. The housekeeping staff was utterly professional and on our beck and call. The sunrise and sunset experience in the resort is to die for.The bird's chirping sound in the early morning and around and after sunset is therapeutic and soothing. If one wishes to unwind and detoxify oneself then look nowhere else other than this resort. The view from our cottage was surreal and mesmerizing.Hands down, one of the best and untainted property not just in Coorg but Pan-India.The Tamara Coorg puts all superlative to dust.We would love to come and stay again.Guys do yourself a favour come and stay in The Tamara Coorg and bask in the lifetime experience.
I've travelled a fair bit, I've stayed at hotels and resorts, both luxurious and basic, I've had experiences both good and bad. But Tamara! it is hard to classify this experience. Tamara redefines luxury, it sets a new benchmark in hospitality and all this without taking away the bliss of nature. when you drive in, there's very little that gives away the fact that there are gorgeous little cottages high up in the trees in the midst of a 160 acre coffee and cardamom estate. our welcome was warm with a garland, traditional sandalwood paste, wet towels and a delicious local brew of coffee and jaggery..near perfect! we were then driven to our cottage in a battery operated noiseless buggy. The rooms are completely made of wood and have everything that a 5star hotel offers and more. A mini bar replenished daily was perfect for warm summer days. We watched the sunrise from the comfort of our bed and I can promise you, the feeling is very different. Don't bother with the camera like I did, just watch and experience it. We were quite famished by the time we arrived and made our way to the restaurant which like everything in this resort is a gorgeous work of art. they had a massive spread for lunch and it was served on the table. like most good restaurants , there were exceptional dishes like the local coorgi rice cakes and coorgi chicken curry. Please remember that you don't have to choose from the menu, you can request the chef to make something you want to try and they will be more than happy to help you. I can go on writing, but in summary. Tamara is a must visit - pamper yourself, it is money well spent. Things to Do 1) 14Km Trek - part of the package 2) Yoga and meditation classes - part of the package 3) Coffee plantation walk - ends with a DIY coffee brewing class - part of the package 4) candle light dinner - Paid 5) Western and ayurvedic spa treatment - Paid
i would start with the day we checked in the receiving part is awesome they welcomed us with jasmine garland (small) and jaggery coffe and on the way bak to our room they briefed us abt the property and room is excellent or i woild say fantastic the balcony is best part , the acitivites like trekking and pottery and cooking classes were too good, chef sanjay needs a special mention here hes so sweet they hav a big spread of buffet and this asked us if we need nything extra apart frm wats there on buffet, he gave us crab chilly fry, cheese less pizza ( as my wife has lactose intolarance) and akki roti, we cooked banana cake, coorg chicken curry, chicken pepper fry and mud cake, he took us around the kitchen the hygenic standards they use r too good, the next best part is smile on faces of working staff, they r too too good, the plantation tour is awesome mr nitin gave us a wonder ful tour n we came to THE VERANDA ( its like a coffe place) we roasted our coffe beans n made our coffe which is as awesome experience, we didnt go to trekking tho but heard its also awesome , the room service ppl r sos sweet they gave choclates everyday, over all we got more than wat we expected... looking forward to visit TAMARA again...
Amazing experience at Tamara.. Natural beauty with cofee plantation, spices plantation, white crystal clear waterfall flowing amidst green forest. Very supportive staff. would like to share 2 experiences: 1) We forgot our two bags in one of the resort in Madekeri, the staff at Tamara helped us to get our bags safe and in time to our room, great efforts and coordination from their end. It was impressive. They helped us to forget all our worries and helped us to enjoy the natural beauty of Tamara. 2) We had a flight from Bangalore and our car driver was late by 3 hours, we were supposed to checkout at 11 but waiting for the driver, we actually left from Tamara at 2 pm, and it was a 7 hours travel to Bangalore and we almost thought we would miss our flight. The staff at Tamara helped us in arranging a car for some miles free of cost and gave their best possible services in crisis. dinner lunches and breakfast with family
Its a beautiful concept and experience. The journey to the place may seem distant and odd but you tend to forget all that on reaching the place. The front office is pleasant and takes care of everything you need. The kitchen staff (Chef Ranjan and co.) is perfectly trained and have yes as an answer for everything and any time. The spread of the menu and availability is unmatched. They also surprise with warm gestures for a special day. The house keeping staff is very prompt. Views from cottages just makes to feel to stay forever. The indoor and outdoor activities are perfectly in place (with upgradations of swimming pool and gym in construction). The coffee plantation and brewing experience is icing on the cake. The staff can keep you busy with all the attention you need. Amazing stay and hospitality.
If you plan to spend time at Tamara,Coorg rest assured that it was a wise decision on your part and one which you wont regret. Each and every minor detail has been looked into by the concerned staff in an absolutely professional manner which you appreciate during the stay. The hospitality of the staff at site is commendable. The location of the restaurant and the recreation centre is nice and worth spending time in. The quality of food along with the ease with which personal wishes were taken care of by the staff were appreciable. The activities on offer like the yoga session and trekking were great and enjoyable. It was an awesome experience and i felt pretty relaxed with an out of the world feeling during the stay.
The property is really awesome... It’s an 185 acre private property... The atmosphere and ambiance are too Gud and will make you lost yourself to the outside world... The rooms have Gud privacy and view... 24hrs buggy service is available for connectivity... Even though the restaurant provide buffet only if there is more than 25% occupancy, the Alacarte menu is unlimited and also the chefs prepare whatever you ask for... The staffs were friendly and very courteous... Overall it’s an amazing experience... One point to be noted is that they are not allowing kids due to safety measures...

Wonderful experience! Perfect getaway from the monotony of daily routine and hustle bustle of city life. This place has the distinction of being ecofriendly but also luxurious. View from the balcony in the room is breathtaking. Service is top notch. Amenities are good. Really enjoyed the plantation tour. Missed the trek though.. The ambience of the restaurant is amazing and the food, delicious. The pork deserves a special mention for its melt in the mouth texture.. If you appreciate nature and are looking for a quiet, private getaway, look no further!
Sometimes we look for checkboxes to tick when selecting a travel location/ resort etc, such as food , view, rating , service , location etc. Tamara has all this to perfection . In 2020 however , tamara does the impossible . For a few days , it managed to help us forget all about the rest of world , it's challenges and it's complications I am truly lucky to have visited Special thanks Preethi from the team who was able to give special attention despite it being packed .
The place is just superb, every cottage has its own area and view, service quality is great, there are lot of activities conducted like coffee trail, cardamon trail, recreational activities, pottery session, cookery session and etc. You can enjoy your food viewing waterfall, leisure and peace are combined here, serenity at its best. And definitely very romantic. Recommended to everyone and specially for couples.

had a great experience staying at what I believe is one of the best resorts in Coorg. The experience of staying on the lap of a reserved forest with a fresh breeze carrying an aroma of coffee and pepper waking you up to a perfect sunrise is something words cannot describe to the fullest.the property is so huge, there is always absolute privacy even if the cottages are fully booked.
Location is amazing. Room quality is 5/5. Humble staff. I advice the guests to have their meal at restaurant as Tamara menu card available on their app displays limited items. Staff: Harshita, Sanjaya, Biddappa, Thammaiah, housekeeping & other employees whom we interacted were very courteous, helpful and made our stay pleasant.
